More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

*nb: Moving to a new city so not currently using this site* Music! Composing, recording and performing music. Discovering new instruments and sounds to play with. Much more interested in recorded music than live music, but when the right album comes on it can change me. This, as well as social gaming with friends. Anything creative usually excites me.

I typically spend my leisure time

Playing music with friends as well as playing games with them; as a fairly introverted person, I enjoy maintaining a small group of friends and doing activities with them, such as playing board games and having a few drinks and a chat in a pub somewhere nice. Scenic walks as well as visiting art galleries and museums are good in summer too.

The most influential person in my life has been

Sensitivity, intelligence, and a good sense of humour. Being able to not take yourself too seriously is important; life is better with laughter and without stress.

The last book I read and enjoyed

1964 - George Orwell. I can well imagine this title being clich and a bit of a trope, however I decided to finally get round to reading this book relatively recently and discovered why it had had such an impact upon the literary world. Its writing is tense and well ahead of its time, exploring themes which remain relevant and pertinent to this day. Otherwise, to pick a slightly more obscure book, I remember the Thief of Time being formative when growing up; Pratchett's unique style and a sterling plot captured the sense of urgency that the book required. Great stuff.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Friends that I can rely on to be there for me.
  2. To be able to pursue my musical ambitions with no limits; currently free to be creative
  3. The support of my father, not to mention my family; family matters!

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I almost always put others before myself and feel that I think quite deeply about what other people want or need. I feel myself to be relatively humble. I'd hate for people to think of me as a bad person! (Ignore the oxymoron of bragging about being humble..)

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Creative, Easy-Going, Rational

A little more about me

I play quite a few instruments so if you play or sing, that's perfect because I love jamming with people. I'm aiming to be a composer, albeit I'm not entirely sure where I want to do that. As a video gamer, I often feel reluctant to talk about gaming as I assume it's treated as a negative trait to most people. But personally it's how I made my closest friends and has been both a fun hobby as well as a great way to maintain a social group with people across the country.
