More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

History, American comics

I typically spend my leisure time

Visiting stately homes and gardens, and having tea and cake in the rain. The rain isn't a necessity so much as an inevitability. I make the most of my National Trust membership and soak up as many of these places as is possible. If there happens to be a brown road sign with a place of historical interest mid- journey somewhere that I haven't visited before then chances are I'll pop in and stop off for an hour or two if I have the time.I like old buildings and the quiet of National Trust corridors but I also love the glare and lights of the amusement arcades of seaside towns that have long ago seen better day, 2 penny shove anyon

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm guessing same as everyone, just a connection with a like minded person with similar interests and outlook and conversations that don't revolve around which day the bins are going out for recycling.

The first thing people notice about me

Apparently I can be animated when I talk, I don't think its to the point of embarrassment or whacking people with flailing arms and limbs but yes apparently I can get over involved and a bit carried away...Probably a good thing if it distracts people away from the size of my ears...

The last book I read and enjoyed

Still reading it- book on the Plantagenet kings of England, surprisingly no ye-olde car parks mentioned so far though...

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My children
  2. Fish
  3. And chips

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

No thanks I'm quite happy being judged by people how they find me, their perception is to them. Frankly if there is something they don't see it's because I don't want them to or it's a failing on my part but I wouldn't wish anyone to change their opinion simply by being able to make a wish. I think this an appalling question! If I had a wish, a Samiad conviently resident in the garden, I'd wish for the lottery numbers or something.

A little more about me
