The Doodle Bar, Battersea

Doodle Bar

They say a picture paints a thousand words. At Battersea’s Doodle Bar you can stop talking, start drawing and find out if that’s true.

“It’s a great way to break the ice,” say eHarmony couple Jess and Pete. “As the name suggests, you’re positively encouraged to write on the tables and walls and let your creative juices flow.” And when they say you can draw on whatever you like, they really mean everything – even the waiters will be wearing white jeans and white t-shirts ready for your scribbles.

You don’t need to be the next Picasso either – the point of the place is to inspire a little creativity, rather than just to show off your skills. But if you’re both into art, their life drawing soirées (complete with flowing cocktails) make for a great first date activity. Or if you like being around all of the doodlers, but don’t fancy joining in you can always challenge your partner to a game of table tennis or grab something to eat at one of the pop-up kitchens, serving Italian flatbreads, cakes and gourmet street food.

If you’d like a creative date which let’s you leave your mark, then check out their website for more information – www.thedoodlebar.com. Plus, there’s always something extra going on, so don’t miss their events section to see if there’s anything up your street.
