Victoria Tower

Victoria Tower

It might be a little out of the way, but if you’re a local looking for love in Guernsey, Victoria Tower is a sight not to be missed. Whilst your Princess or Prince Charming may not technically be descended from royalty, the beauty spot is fit for a Queen (literally), as it was built in 1846 to honour Queen Victoria’s visit to the Island. Now it’s your chance to be swept off your feet, hundreds of feet above ground.

With breath-taking views across the ocean and beyond, romance for you could certainly be on the horizon, like it was for eHarmony’s lovely Laura and Duncan. Although they both enjoyed the tower before they met, it became truly magical after Duncan proposed at the top, and of course now, they both agree that it’s their “special spot”. You’ll only ever be lost for words because you’re appreciating the incredible scenery, and even then, it’s a fantastic talking point.

Visitors can enjoy a true ‘secret garden’ style experience, as the only way to gain entry is to borrow a special key from the museum in the gorgeous Candie gardens. It’s a perfect chance to enjoy a private moment, and for those special occasions, it may even be worth a quick trip over to see for yourself.

Love truly could be in the air…!

To access the tower, you’ll need to give the Guernsey Museums and Gardens a call on (+44) 01481 726518, or visit their website.
