Andrew Clover | The Course of True Love
“The Course of True Love Never Did Run Smooth”. Shakespeare nailed it with this quote from a Midsummer Night’s Dream in 1598. Love and relationships are the things that bind us, define us and bring us much hilarity, joy and tragedy, but they don’t always go as planned. For those of us who are single and looking ahead to our future relationships, what can we really expect on the course to true love?
We asked guest blogger Andrew Clover, Perrier-nominated comedian, author and 35 year old married father of three, to give us the real picture of being in love and in a long term relationship. Andrew is best known for “Dad Rules”, his long-standing column in the Sunday Times Style with musings on being a father figure. Last year Andrew toured the country with his highly acclaimed one man comedy show “Love Rules” and now he is bringing his thoughts and words of wisdom to eHarmony Advice.
The first of his hilarious and irreverent blogs start this Wednesday, where he’ll be imparting some of his real life love and relationship wisdom for our readers, with insider tips for anyone who’s on the journey to finding ‘the one’, wherever they might be on the path. The first post takes look at how to, and how not to, talk about feelings. So come and have a read, have a good laugh and let your other single friends know.
In his own words:
“I’m delighted to be blogging for eHarmony, because I think so much nonsense is said about love, and I want to describe the truth.”
“‘The perfect person is out there,’ people tell you, ‘you’ve just got to find them.’ But what happens if you find them, and then you find they leave a teabag by the sink? How do you keep love alive? That is what I want to write about.”
