Profile Feedback: Edition #13
Sometimes it’s great to get a second pair of eyes on something. That’s why, every month, we showcase one user’s eHarmony profile, asking for your feedback. For our thirteenth edition we’re showcasing one male user’s profile below.
Whether you’re male or female, we’d love your comments. What do you think of the profile as a whole? What do you think works? What do you think could be improved? All comments are gratefully received, but please, nothing rude or overly personal. He’s looking for helpful critique not harsh criticism!

In my own words
The one thing I am most passionate about:
I love to be active and I spend a lot of time swimming or in the gym. It’s really important to me to stay active as not long ago I had an injury that meant I couldn’t do a lot of what I’m doing now, and I was bored silly so now I try to do as much as possible. I also like to spend a lot of time outside and in the last couple of years have gotten a taste for hiking. Apart from being active and the outdoors I also love to travel whenever I get the chance and I want to see a lot more of the world!
The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
I can’t say there’s just one quality I’m looking for. I’d like to meet someone with a sense of humour and who enjoys a bit of banter; that’s a really attractive quality. Also, someone who likes to try new things and likes to be active, and also takes an interest in what’s going on around her and in the world. Another very important quality to me is that she is honest and open about what she’s thinking and feeling, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
The most influential person in my life has been:
I’ve had to think long and hard about this one, and after a lot of thought I’d say probably my German teacher when I was in Year 11. She got me to take an interest not just in the subject she taught but also others, and it got me to realise how important it was to really work hard and apply myself to whatever I’m doing. She taught me to be a lot more proactive.
The three things which I am most thankful for:
– I’m grateful for my health.
– I’m grateful for my friends and family.
– I’m grateful I have a job I enjoy, when so many people don’t.
Three of my best life-skills are:
– Cooking for my family and friends
– Continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness
– Maintaining a network of close friends
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
I do tend to joke around a lot when I’m with friends so people who don’t know me might not realise that I have a serious side too. Also, even though I’m confident and talkative most of the time I do still tend to be a little shy sometimes, especially in large groups.
The things I can’t live without are:
– My friends and family.
– My dog: he really cracks me up!
– The spices in my cupboard.
– My laptop.
– Something to read. I often have my nose in a book.
The first thing people notice about me:
Probably that I have a very dry – sometimes a little dark – sense of humour.
I typically spend my leisure time:
I like to swim or go to the gym a few times a week. On week nights I tend to be a bit more chilled and sit down with a DVD or read a book, or even do a little bit of writing (I’d like to write my own novel… one day). I’m looking forward to taking up dancing lessons again soon as I’m recovering from an injury that stopped me from going a few months ago.
On weekends I like to catch up with friends, at our local for a couple of drinks – I definitely prefer pubs to clubs – or to see a film or just chilling out with them. I also love to cook and I make a few mean spicy dishes!
The last book I read and enjoyed:
I’ve just started reading Game of Thrones, by George RR Martin. I’ve already seen the TV show so it feels a little bit like I’m cheating!
My favourite authors are Chris Ryan and Andy McNab, I’ve got a lot of interest in military fiction and also military history.
According to my friends
My friends describe me as:
– Good listener
– Hard Working
