Tony and Joanna
Tony: “My dear wife died in 2009 in hospital whilst being treated for pancreatic cancer. We were together for 23 years and happily married for 18 years and whilst in intensive care, she knew she was dying and said to me, ''I know you will be unhappy on your own, please go out and find another lady to make as happy as you have made me for the last 23 years.'' Huge compliment! So, I thought about what she had said then later looked at the options and eHarmony seemed to be the answer.
Having contacted a number of ladies and used the eHarmony staged communication method there followed several meetings, all of which were good matches but lacked the chemistry from one or both sides. Contact was made with Joanna and we rapidly proceeded through the email stages to a meeting. There was immediate chemistry and within a very short time we became 'an item'. Joanna lost her husband to cancer five years ago so is very understanding and has been very sympathetic.
Both Joanna and I have a huge passion for travelling so have been on many fantastic adventures since we both met. We initially travelled to Poland and then spent eight weeks in the USA in the summer of 2010, we then enjoyed introducing each other to our extended family and friends around the country. My friends and family loved Joanna, and on my birthday I proposed and she accepted! The engagement ring was purchased the next day (not one to mess about) and we plan to marry on the 6th May 2012. We have set this date to allow people time to make travel arrangements, given that some of the guests will be travelling from various parts of the USA, Australia and Poland.
We never seem to stand still for long enough these days. In April we bought an Aston Martin for a cross-continental trip to Monaco and we will soon be heading to Spain for a two-week car rally. I’m delighted to have been given a new lease of life with Joanna. We are so well suited and determined to make the most of every day that we spend together.”
