Danny and Emma
Danny: “For me my story is pretty simple. Last year I tried another dating site and ended up going on a string of dates, dates that all went nowhere. The process seemed to be based solely on liking somebody’s appearance, the rest would just be blind luck as to whether there was any substance between me and my date. Ultimately I gave up, very disheartened to be honest at how big a failure the whole experience had been and at the time thoroughly disillusioned with the whole idea of online dating. After a few months a friend of mine talked me into trying my hand at dating again, but I wanted to try a new site so I did some research and thought that eHarmony would be the most suitable website to try, as I was not looking for just endless dating but for a good relationship and to at least meet somebody whom I have a little in common with.
After only three weeks I was matched with Emma and after going through the communication stages we started chatting over the Christmas period. I was worried that being Christmas it would ruin any 'spark' but it helped us actually and we emailed for a couple of weeks getting to know each other before agreeing that we would really like to meet.
Emma and I met for our first date in Oxford in mid-January just to go for a drink and a chat. I was excited, but also a little worried given my previous experiences. Emma was quite visibly nervous but we just chatted away! The date went well, and the really amazing thing is that we kept finding more and more that we share in common, it’s remarkable. After we had a drink she took me on a tour of Oxford before walking me back to the train station. I gave her a kiss, which really surprised her and she left blushing and smiling.
Ever since then we have been dying to see each other as much as possible and have been on many dates since.”
