Tricia and Harry
Tricia: “It was approaching the third anniversary of my husband’s death. We’d been together for 44 years and I was beginning to think that the time was right to start to move on even though at that stage I was looking for friendship and nothing more. I decided that eHarmony could be a good starting point so joined one Sunday afternoon. By 7pm that night I’d received a message from Harry.
Harry’s messages immediately put me at ease. He immediately confirmed that we could just be friends if that was what I was looking for. We messaged for a week or so and then spoke on the phone. I immediately felt that this was a man I could trust and began to think that maybe I was looking for more than friendship, so decided to meet with Harry for a meal a couple of weeks later.
I think at this first meeting there was just a spark between us. Harry was the perfect gentleman throughout the evening and we both agreed that we would like to meet again a couple of weeks later. However, after speaking on the telephone the next week, Harry asked if he could come and visit me again. We met for a coffee and spent hours chatting. It was then that I knew that there was no way we could just be friends. I was developing strong feelings for him and Harry told me that he felt the same. When we kissed goodbye, we both knew there was going to be more to this relationship.
Since then we can hardly bear to be apart and spend as much time together as work commitments and other things allow. He spoils me, buys me flowers each week and it’s so nice to feel like teenagers again. At 65 we both have the life experience to know when something is right and we know that time is not on our side. The future looks good and I never expected to fall in love again, especially at my time of life. Hopefully one day in the not too distant future we will move in together permanently.”
