Juliet and Philip
Juliet “Philip and I met on eHarmony last February. Although I’d spoken to a number of people through the guided communication stages, I decided to skip the questions with Philip and requested to email him openly. I was really attracted to his very straight forward profile and lovely photograph and the fact that we’d both been widowed and brought up children alone. We started emailing and then spoke on the phone soon after which I thought was important as sometimes there’s only so much you can tell about a person through email.
We met up fairly soon after we’d spoken and went for a long walk around Tintern in the Wye Valley. It was interesting meeting with someone online. When I met Philip I already knew I liked his personality so I had a strong expectation that he’d be just the same when I met him in person and of course, he was. We started going on dates together and on our third date Philip took me along on a camping trip to meet his eldest son. Everything seemed to be going well but understandably Philip needed a bit more time to get his head around getting deeply involved again and decided to take a couple of months to reflect on our relationship.
I really missed him but realised that if I gave him space, he might come back to me. In early May, Philip was back in touch and admitted that he’d really missed me too. I was thrilled and we have never looked back!
The fact that we have both survived losing a partner and having to bring up children on our own obviously forged a deep link between us. We both have a deep love of the arts and understand what it’s like to work at a really focused job. We have both been surprised and delighted to find love again after thinking that we’d already had our fair share! We’re getting married at a glorious little tower overlooking the Welsh hills and Monmouth and can’t wait to start our new life together as a married couple.
The main thing I liked about eHarmony was the support offered. There seemed to be continuous discussion on the advice site and I found so many of the articles very useful.”
