Fay & Aaron
Fay: “I joined eHarmony with an open mind that it would be nice to perhaps go on some dates on a Saturday night. It turns out that Aaron and I both joined around the same time in mid-January 2010. Our profiles were later matched around mid-March. Aaron’s profile stood out to me. I liked that he seemed to have the same values, he sounded quite down to earth and funny with an odd/quirky sense of humour. His profile showed he was family orientated, like me. I also quite liked the look of him from his photos.
We got so far through the communication stage but as we had connected quite well from the questions, we thought it would be nice to skip to email communication. We had a lot to talk about in email so it seemed only natural to have a chat on the phone. We were both very at ease and had lots to say to each other, laughing most of the conversation. We had a date lined up the following week but as we were communicating so much through email, text and Facebook we decided to bring the date forward to that very weekend, Easter Monday 2010. We did not want to build up each others’ expectations too much without meeting first.
For our first date we went out for a meal, a couple of drinks and a couple of short walks around Durham. We both felt very at ease, like we had known each other for years. Following on from our first few dates we seemed to fall into a relationship very quickly, but it all felt right. In May 2010 I was delighted to be invited to a family get together – Aaron’s Grandparent’s 65th Wedding Anniversary (yes, wow). It was a lovely day and I was made to feel very welcome by Aaron’s family. This occasion was closely followed by my niece’s Christening where Aaron met most of my family; he was a big hit!
We soon found we didn’t really like spending too much time apart, so Aaron asked me to move into his house to, ‘see how it goes,’ as you never really know someone or how things will bode until you have lived together. So this is what we did. The relationship went on and continued to blossom, then on Boxing Day 2010 Aaron proposed! All of Aaron’s family knew this was planned but I had no idea. We then started planning our wedding which took place in August 2011. It was an amazing day spent with family and close friends. We are now enjoying married life and hope to start a family of our own in the not too distant future.
We were both very impressed with eHarmony and would definitely recommend eHarmony to anyone looking for a relationship. We are very glad we found each other. It’s simply a great way to meet people.”
