Jenny and Ian
Jenny: “Both having hectic lives in Cornwall and looking for ways to meet someone new, we met via eHarmony in April 2010. Even through the email communication stage we found we got on extremely well and it wasn’t long before we swapped numbers and arranged to meet. We’d been texting each other before our date and I was a bit nervous that we’d have nothing to say when we met because we’d already talked so much.
Our first date was a great success, it was fantastic! We’d arranged to meet on a Wednesday evening after work for a drink. Both of us assumed it would be a quick hello, a bit of a chat and to go from there. We ended up leaving the pub at 10.30pm and during that time we did not stop chatting. There was an immediate chemistry, we were completely on the same wavelength, had the same values and were at similar places in our lives.
We even discovered that we had a mutual friend - one of my close friends used to work with Ian. Even more strangely we found that our dads had actually worked together in the 1970s! At the end of the night we both said we would like to meet up again and hugged goodbye. From then we text each other daily and met up again four days later on the Sunday. We spent the whole day together, going on a coastal walk and then Ian bought me dinner. Again we spent the whole time talking and the chemistry grew the longer we spent together. We had so much in common! At the end of this very long date, we had our first kiss....and that was that.
We went on more dates and within three weeks became an exclusive couple. Looking back it is amazing just how quickly and perfectly the events took place. We went on our first holiday together in the June and in the September we moved in together. None of this seemed rushed in any way, just a natural step in our amazing relationship that was going from strength to strength. We went to New Zealand for a holiday in December and on Christmas Day Ian proposed in the most romantic way. I of course said yes.
Last year was spent planning our wedding, camping lots and generally just having a great time together. We are both sickeningly happy and only wish we'd both had the sense to go on eHarmony earlier!
We’re now blissfully married.”
