Kat and Justin
Kat: “I had been single for about 10 years and had tried various other sites with a few small start-up relationships, but quickly found out that they were very wrong for me. It was mainly because I knew nothing about them as a person. I'd not chosen eHarmony to begin with because I had heard it was quite a lengthy application. Really, I guess, I wanted to find someone perfect without putting any effort in (which was never going to happen)! I then decided enough was enough! I knew a fair few people who had met on eHarmony, and those guys are all married now so I took a leaf out of their books and joined. Boy, am I glad I did!
Getting ready for my first date with Justin, I was very nervous but also excited and intrigued. We decided to meet on neutral territory (we lived about 20 miles apart) in a country pub. As soon as Justin got out of the car, I had a great feeling about him and was feeling really positive about our date. We had talked a lot before hand on the phone, and followed the Guided Communication process, yet we still had such a lot to talk about! We ate dinner, and agreed that we'd both like to see each other again. I remember feeling even more nervous for our second date! We knew we liked each other, so it meant more to meet this time. Justin came down to see me on the train and we met at Gun Wharf for a few drinks and a pizza which was lovely. Several dates later, we had a very romantic picnic at Durdle Door and went for a long walk. I remember it was around the time when that song "Hey Baby, I think I'm gonna marry you" was out and it kept on playing on the radio each time we turned it on! It was quite funny, but also felt very significant. I already knew at this stage that my feelings for Justin were very strong, and also his feelings for me.
Justin's proposal was very romantic. He had asked my Dad already (although I didn't know it)! He went ring shopping and chose the most beautiful ring imaginable! He'd planned everything and anyone would have thought he'd ordered the sunset too - fire red and orange sky, golden sand and the calmest bluest sea. It was just the two of us on the beach. I thought we were just going to watch the sun set on the beach (something we often do and is special to us both). Little did I know that Justin was about to propose! He got down on one knee and asked - obviously I burst into tears and said yes! We sat on the beach, snuggled up and watched the rest of the sun go down. Then we sipped a cocktail at the "beanbag bar" (literally, beanbags on the beach, with the waves lapping by your toes) and then went out for dinner.
We have the venue for our wedding booked, the photographer booked, the invitations self designed and printed using our photos, my dress is bought... it’s just the boys and the bridesmaids to sort out now! I’m having three bridesmaids and Justin is having three best men! Justin couldn't decide between his brother and his two best mates, so he's having all three!”
